introspection

by Vy on 9 May 2009

I got kinda emo last night–in private, of course.  Introspection does that to me.  That and old music (see the blog post before this one).  Rather, old music spurs on the introspection, which brings on the emo-ness.

I value authenticity a lot.  I don’t like people who are pretentious.

I’m not always completely myself in public, though.  I spent some time last night wondering why.  I guess it’s because I’m afraid of being burned by other people.

But who am I, really?

Then I thought (or God told me to think?) of a sermon Pastor Steven gave once.  He said something along the lines of…

“The Word shows you who you are in light of who God is.”

I am who I am in light of who God is.
