on baptisms

by Vy on 24 May 2009

So I have a question about baptism.

I was already baptized once before at the age of 15 or 16.  Later on, I would go my own way and live a life less devoted to Christ.

Now that I’m back, do I have to do it again?

Not if you were baptized after you first gave your life to Christ, as far as I have seen and been taught.

i agree with Josh. If you've been baptized you don't have to do it again. Some people do but it's more to tell themselves that they are starting over.

I also agree w/ Josh. Most repeat baptism that I've seen were people who were baptized as tiny kids and can't remember it.

But really, if you want to be rebaptized, I think it could be valuable. It definitely makes a statement to your friends (many of whom I imagine are new since you were 16)
