Some days, I just want to hear music that’s heavy, grungy, and kind of angry.
Enter Jonin, a band based out of Raleigh, NC. I’m not sure what genre of music their stuff actually falls under, but they do provide this bit of info on their MySpace page:
Is there such a thing as accessible, melodic heavy music in this day and age?
Providing a resounding “Yes” to that question is Jonin, a North Carolina based five-piece ready to prove it with their Tribunal Records debut, The Secret. In fact, fusing classic metal heaviness with technical prowess and an unexpectedly melodic vocalist, The Secret‘s eleven songs are not just accessible, but approach downright catchy.
I’m always weirded out whenever a band praises itself on its own site, but whatever.
I like’em because their lead singer actually sings as opposed to just screaming all the time. Music video below.
