you can’t be friends with everybody

I’m a business major.  I have to take classes on management.  They’re okay.  I don’t particularly care for them, though I have learned a few things (which I guess is all that really matters in the end).

They say that a good manager knows that he/she can’t be friends with everyone at the office.  Because if that were the case, none of the difficult decisions would ever be made.

So you can’t be friends with anyone, but does that necessarily mean you can’t work somewhere without having enemies?
