I got a tattoo (pictured left) about a year ago while I was visiting Victoria, British Columbia.
I haven’t really talked about it much because my mom didn’t know about it yet. She doesn’t like tattoos because of the potential health risk they pose.
I had also been dealing with a lot of skin problems on my body and face since then, and I was afraid that my tattoo was the cause of them.
Irony: The tattoo wasn’t the cause of my problems. However, it wasn’t until after my mom found out about it that I could finally get my problem treated properly.
She didn’t freak out, and for the first time in a long time, I feel good enough about my face to not wear makeup anymore.
