Meet The Waiting Kind.  Discovered these guys through a forum that I frequent.  I pre-ordered their CD the same day I saw this.  Many thanks to Marcus Hackler for posting this video!

always hurts

David Choi is awesome.

For once, I’m grateful for my commitment issues.  I’ll be clinging to them until 28 February 2010.

Video of Always Hurts by David Choi below.

I have friends that are total music snobs.  Everyone has their own tastes and preferences, and that’s cool.  The thing is, some of these friends like to make other people feel bad for liking certain songs or music artists.

Let’s use Kanye West as an example.

I don’t like Kanye because I think he’s the biggest narcissist on the planet.  However, to say that ALL of his music is crap is a gross over-generalization.  Let’s face it.  He’s popular for a reason, and that’s because he’s been able to crank out some pretty catchy songs.

Of course, there’s much better music out there than what Kanye has to offer, but I’m just saying that not everything has to be black and white.

For the record, I’m a die-hard Daft Punk fan.  Favorite music artist of all time.

Meet Ari Hest.  This man has a voice to die for.  He doesn’t have too many music videos and he doesn’t do the David Choi thing where he sits on his bed with his laptop and plays, so all I’ve really got to go off of is fan videos from live performances.  This video is from a show at the Evening Muse in Charlotte, NC where he sings a cover of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah.  I’m telling you, it’s infinitely better the original.

This is David Choi.  Don’t mind that the fact that he doesn’t smile when he sings–just listen to the song.  It’s pretty good.  David’s also released an album called Only You, which I’ve bought.

Just giving a shout-out to the little guys in the music industry.
